Vajentic Flooring Company, Inc. carries a large selection of prefinished and unfinished hardwoods flooring.  Let us help you understand the difference . . .

Unfinished -

As it’s name indicates, these products need to be finished after installation, and depending on the finish selected, may take several days to complete.  Since this process may be extremely hazardous, it is suggested you select a contractor that has the necessary equipment and talent to produce the results you desire, while protecting the environment during the process.

Prefinished-

These products come in many styles and finishes.  Because of their style options and durability, they are becoming the ‘choice’ in today’s market.  Ease of installation is another factor in making prefinished products top on the list of builders, homeowners and installation contractors.

Strip
Parquet flooring is wood flooring that create a geometric design.  It may be glued down or nailed and glued.
Plank hardwood measured flooring is linearly, and is usually wider. Common widths of plank flooring are 3", 4", 5", and 6".  Wider products, while not uncommon,  can cause more concern with moisture.
Strip flooring is also linear, that is usually 1 1/2", 2 1/4", or 3 1/4" wide. A strip hardwood floor can often give the illusion of a larger and more open space.

Types of Wood Floors -

o Acrylic Impregnated- creates a super-hard, durable floor.  They work well in high traffic areas, like kitchens, and entry ways.  This process is also used in commercial areas like malls and restaurants and public areas.

o
Engineered - Constucted of wood that is pressed and glued.  Grains typically run in different directions, adding stability. This flooring is available in several ply thicknesses, and are often used where moisture is a major concern.

o
